Overview
The Brocade SAN Theory and Practice course covers the fundamental aspects of building storage networks based on the Fiber Channel protocol stack. Students are given the opportunity to examine in detail the theory of SAN in terms of key issues of interaction between devices in storage networks.
The course focuses on the implementation of Fiber Channel technologies in Brocade products, and the implementation of laboratory work is based, among other things, on Brocade Gen7 hardware. The training covers the basics of implementing and administering storage networks, as well as an overview of the outstanding functionality of Brocade products.
For students of the B-SAN-001 course, the BSAN-test Administering Brocade SAN is included in the cost of training.
Audience for this course
- Storage administrators
- Storage Area Network Administrators
The course is designed for students of varying degrees of training in relation to the issues of building a SAN: from the zero level and above.
Prerequisites for this course
Basic skills in storage technologies
OS administration experience: Solaris, Windows or VMware hypervisor
Basic knowledge of network technologies and OSI/RM model
Outcomes
The course introduces students to the basic standards on which the construction of storage networks is based. Studying the theory of the functioning of the FC protocol stack will allow you to understand and analyze all the processes that occur in the storage network. Practical classes provide students with the opportunity to practice building a SAN from scratch, administering all the devices included in it, including operating systems, as well as managing data security.
Outline
- FC protocol stack
- Device management and basic function administration
- Working with SAN in operating systems
- Data protection in SAN
- Combining Switches
- L2 Routing and Trunking
- Brocade FOS Advanced Features Overview
